Historic Main Street
North Main Street in Independence Heights was once a bustling area for economic development. In its heyday North Main Street was the hub for all activities in this independent city. Today, the decay of urban blight and disinvestment has taken a toll on the main strip. Community stakeholders are planning a renaissance for the corridor under their economic development initiatives. Bringing back small businesses, local stores and one of a kind homemade products is all a part of the plan to revive this historic street.
